Earlier this month, Line of Sight’s President, Jon Weinstein, co-presented with change management consultant Tom Marsicanco at the Association for Change Management Professional’s (ACMP) Europe Change Management Conference. The three-day conference, located in London, focused on educating professionals about innovations in change management.
ACMP is a leading resource for change management education, information and networking. The association’s members are diverse, representing a variety of industries. This expansive network of experience connects professionals with information and best practices for managing change.
Weinstein and Marsicano held an interactive workshop with about seventy-five conference attendees. The workshop explored the overlap and conflicts between project and change management and gave advice when and how to integrate one or both in business. The two presenters took opposing sides to argue for the superiority of each discipline. Weinstein, an experienced project manager, advocated for the advantages of project management, while co-presenter, Marsicano, embodied the change management perspective in the debate. Finally, the two examined ways both disciplines can be integrated for mutual benefit and discussed roles, governance and key activities such as communication.
